Incineration Slag Projects

Road projects with IBA Aggregates (IBAA)

Central Jutland motorway

As part of the expansion of the Brande motorway, the original bypass was expanded into a motorway. It was decided to use IBAA as a substitute for natural raw materials. The IBAA was used as fill in a motorway ramp over the northern railway bridge and as a stabilising layer under parts of the motorway. The IBAA was therefore built in layers of up to 5 metres.

"The good thing about IBAA is the load-bearing capacity of the material, as well as its resistance to precipitation."

Regional Manager Brian Madsen from MJ Eriksson

Holstebro Motorway

Arkil A/S won the tender for the work on the motorway section between Aulum and Tvis. In this connection, they applied for permission from Holstebro Municipality to use residual products. The application was approved and work began in 2015.

“IBAA is a good material to work with, as it is easy to compact and you can quickly drive over it – even with trucks.”

Enterprise manager and project manager Bo Nielsen from Arkil A/S

Stable construction

Sørensen Barg used IBAA

“Our experience is that IBAA is an extremely reliable choice that has exceeded our expectations in several ways.

We have built up experience with the use of IBAA for more than 15 years and see it as an optimal solution that combines economic benefits with impressive product properties.

We love building on IBAA rather than sand, as it is roadworthy from the first day we start the casting work – the roadworthy properties of the IBAA have been one of the most notable advantages for us. It has made our work more efficient and problem-free.

Although the IBAA  is not quite as easy to work with as sand, the advantages of its use, such as roadholding, far outweigh this.

We will definitely continue to choose IBAA as our preferred bottom protection material on future projects.”

IBAA can be used advantageously as a foundation for barn construction.

Jens Peter built a finishing pig barn and an associated asphalted area of 3000 m². Blue Phoenix (then Meldgaard Miljø) supplied approximately 7000 tons of IBAA for the project. IBAA is convincing when laying, even in very wet weather. Construction could therefore take place well in the winter months.

"I built a finishing pig barn and an associated asphalted area of 3000 m7000. In total, approximately XNUMX tons of IBAA were delivered for the project."

Skjørringe Gods

"At Skjørringe Gods, there is great satisfaction with the use of IBAA as bottom protection in two new buildings built in 2017, totaling 2.700 m2. These are a grain hall and a machine hall. The communication was done through Blue Phoenix and has gone really well. We have been very happy with the collaboration and will use the material again if the need arises for us."

TYBJERGGAARD

"We at Tybjerggaard are super satisfied with the use of IBAA for our many barn constructions and roads. The IBAA is a really good substitute for virgin materials such as stabilized gravel. We save time and money by using IBAA for our constructions when we excavate for foundations and roads. IBAA is extremely weather-resistant to work with – even during heavy rains on the construction site."
