Crushed concrete for building and construction projects
When faced with a construction or civil engineering project, the choice of materials is crucial to both the success of the project and its long-term durability. Crushed concrete is a popular choice as a reclaimed material due to its strength, versatility and the fact that it replaces the use of raw materials. Blue Phoenix offers high-quality crushed concrete at most of our sites.
Crushed concrete, also known as recycled concrete, is made from concrete waste from demolished buildings or surplus material. This makes crushed concrete a more environmentally friendly choice than using raw materials, as it contributes to the recovery of waste materials.
One of the biggest advantages of crushed concrete is the robustness and durability of the material. It is ideal for a variety of applications, including foundations for new buildings, roads and paths, and landscape architecture. The material's sustainability and ability to withstand extreme weather conditions make it a preferred material among builders and contractors.
Crushed concrete at Blue Phoenix
Crushed concrete (0-32 KB) consists of min. 90% crushed concrete and max. 10% crushed brick. KB is intended to be used as an unbound base layer in roads and squares as well as for the rehabilitation of cable trenches instead of stable gravel. KB has a bearing capacity equal to or greater than the bearing capacity of stable gravel and can be used in traffic classes T0-T7. KB mainly consists of crushed concrete and is therefore dimensionally stable against static loads.
Use of crushed concrete
Crushed concrete can be used in many different projects. Below:
Foundation and substrate
Crushed concrete is perfect as a stabilizing substrate for new constructions, which ensures a solid foundation. It is often used in the construction of roads and as a base for tiles and cobblestones.
Landscape design
In landscape design, crushed concrete is an excellent solution for creating durable and aesthetic paths, patios and driveways. Its natural look can complement any outdoor area and add a rustic charm.
Drainage projects
Because of its porous nature, crushed concrete is ideal for drainage projects. It helps prevent water pooling and ensures that water can be easily directed away from critical areas.
