We make clean soil a resource

Help for notification of clean soil

Blue Phoenix is Denmark's largest recipient and processor of surplus soil from the construction and civil engineering industry. We receive clean soil from public recycling sites, agriculture and surplus soil from construction projects, where the soil, after sampling, meets the requirements for clean soil in the Land Relocation Ordinance. Clean soil is an important resource that should be reused, recycled or used as a substitute for virgin materials such as sand, gravel and stone in new construction and civil engineering projects. We simply believe that clean soil is too important a resource to end up in landfill.

If you deliver clean soil to Blue Phoenix, we work to ensure that the soil is reused in, for example, topsoil products, soil washing, lime stabilization or important dike projects, depending on the geotechnical properties of the soil. We guarantee that your clean surplus soil will be given a new lease of life and used as sensibly as possible.

What is pure soil?

Clean soil is soil from areas that have not been mapped, classified or suspected of being contaminated. All urban soil is generally classified as slightly contaminated, but can change classification after sampling, according to the Land Relocation Order, if the soil meets the classification requirements for clean soil. Clean soil is classified as class 0/1 soil or category 1 soil, according to the Land Relocation Order and the Zealand Guide. At Blue Phoenix, we take samples of surplus soil per 30 tons, which documents that the soil can be classified and thus sold as clean. There is a minimum of 50 cm of soil in the upper layer.

All soil is a composition of silt, rock, gravel and sand. The geotechnical composition thus determines what the clean soil can subsequently be used for. Clayey soil can be lime stabilised, loamy soil can be included in new loam products and soil with many stones and sand can be washed and turned into recycled materials. In other words, clean land is an important resource.

Removal of excess soil

Soil removal refers to the process of removing soil from an area and transporting it to a new destination. If you have large quantities of soil that need to be disposed of, you can drive it away to one of our many reception facilities that accept, handle and clean most types of surplus soil.
